Racine Area Electrical
Joint Apprenticeship Committee

IBEW Local Union 430 is proud to be a partner in training with the
NECA chapter and the NJATC. We provide an avenue for all electrical
workers to attain the best possible training for Journeymen
 and Apprentices.

Skill enhancement classes are available for all members interested in
improving their skills as electricians to keep up with today's ever
changing electrical codes and methods of wiring.

 Information on Apprenticeship training opportunities and it's
requirements are listed below.

Committee Notice of Apprenticeship Opportunity

Applications for the Electrical (Construction) Apprenticeship Program
are accepted year-round for semi-annual interviews. Applications are
available on Mondays from 8:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. and from 3:00 p.m.
to 4:00 p.m., or by appointment.

All applications must be completed by August of each year to
be considered for this interview session. All listed information
must be received by September of the same year to qualify
for an interview.

APPLICANTS MUST APPEAR IN PERSON TO
COMPLETE THE APPLICATION FORM.
All applications will be received and considered without regard to
race, color, religion, sex, or national origin.

 

 


BASIC MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
TO QUALIFY FOR AN INTERVIEW
 

  • AGE: Must be at least (18) years of age before the Time of
    Assignment for an Apprenticeship and Furnish proof of age.
    (To Qualify: Copy of Birth Certificate or Valid Drivers'
    License Required.)
     

  • EDUCATION: Must be a High School Graduate or have attained
    a General Equivalency Diploma before the Time of Assignment
    for an Apprenticeship. (To Qualify: Copy of Transcripts and
    Certificate Required.)
     

  • MINIMUM MATH: Must have completed one (1) full year of
    High School Algebra with a passing grade of "C", or one (1) post
    High School Algebra course with a passing grade of "C".
    Successful completion of Interactive ModuMath Algebra, available
    at the WI Technical College, is also an equivalent to the
    minimum math requirement.
     

  • APTITUDE TEST: Must attain established norms on the NJATC
    Apprentice Selection Test Battery. (Developed and validated by
    the American Institute for Research.) Arrangements for testing
    are made by the Committee.
     

  • PHYSICAL ABILITY: Must present or sign a statement that
    he or she is physically able to perform electrical construction
    work. In the future, applicants selected for an apprenticeship
    may be required to provide results of a physical examination.
     

  • TRANSCRIPTS: Must provide official High School transcript (s)
    and (if the minimum Math requirements listed elsewhere) post
    High School transcript (s) showing courses and grades attained.
    Transcripts must indicate Algebra or list classes that are
    equivalent to one full year of High School Algebra. You must
    provide a letter from the school confirming the class is an
    equivalent to the minimum Math requirement.
     

  • LICENSE: Must have a valid Wisconsin Driver's License
    and be insurable.


All information MUST BE RECEIVED BY September in the year
you are applying for an Apprenticeship.

Applicants are required to notify the Application Site
of any changes in Address.
