It's simple. Buy a new home wired by a +5 associated Electrical
Contractor whose Electricians belong to the International Brotherhood
of Electrical Workers (IBEW) and your wiring is automatically protected
for an
extra five years beyond the basic builder's one-year warranty.
The IBEW and the National Electrical Contractors Association (NECA),
working together through their Labor Management Cooperation Committee
(LMCC) guaranty that your new home is electrically safe for five extra years
through their innovative +5 Homeowner's Protection Plan.
This program covers the original owners work done by local
Electricians
employed by +5 contractors on newly built homes, in the unlikely event
that that electrical problems should develop during the five additional years
following the builder's one-year warranty. The +5 Plan is provided at
absolutely no additional expense to the homeowner or the builder. Their
are no strings attached.
The IBEW and the NECA sponsor +5 because they have confidence in
workmanship. Their qualified, professional electricians are well trained and
highly experienced in their trade. They are, simply put, the best in the
business!
If, for any reason, problems should develop in the original
wiring system
during the first year of ownership, we will correct the situation under the
terms of the builder's contract. Then, for a full five more years, our LMCC
+5 Program extends the same protection independently. You just contact
the LMCC office, and describe the trouble you are experiencing. We will
have a +5 Electrical Contractor correct the difficulty...and there will be no
charge for your service call!
A +5 qualified, competent Electrician earns his or her trade
through an
Apprenticeship Program which encompasses three years of an exhaustive
classroom
study, along with 6,00 hours of on-the-job training for
residential
work. In commercial and industrial work, they undergo five years of
classroom training and 8,000 hours of on-the-job training.
Having successfully completed the extensive Apprenticeship process, he
or she becomes a full fledged, card-carrying Residential or Journeyman
Wireman. Continuing education programs constantly update the Electricians
skills by way of training sponsored by the IBEW and NECA... working
together through the Labor Management Cooperation Committee.
The LMCC is a professional trade organization uniting Electrical Contactors
with Electricians. It is dedicated to the objective of promoting professionalism
within the Electrical Contractors Industry.
